UK Summer Fulbright

Purpose:
 The US-UK Fulbright Commission offers special Summer Institutes for US citizens to come to the UK. These summer programmes provide the opportunity for US undergraduates (aged over 18), with at least two years of undergraduate study left to complete, to come to the UK on a three, four, five or six week academic and cultural summer programme.
Eligibility: First-year and second students only.
Awards and Benefits: Participants in these programmes will get the opportunity to experience an exciting academic programme at a highly regarded UK University, explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK and develop their academic ability by improving presentation, research and communication skills.


Udall Scholarship

Purpose: Available to students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment or to Native American and Alaska Native students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to tribal public policy, or Native health care.
Eligibility: Sophomores and juniors. Candidates must be nominated by CSU. 
Awards and Benefits: $5,000 for tuition, room and board, or other educational expenses. Four-day Udall Scholars Orientation in Tucson, Arizona to meet with other Scholars, elected officials, environmental and tribal leaders. Access to a network of environmental, Native American health and tribal policy professionals through the Udall alumni listserv.


Goldwater Scholarship

Purpose:
 The Goldwater Scholarship is awarded to outstanding sophomore and junior students who plan to pursue research careers in natural science, mathematics or engineering. The most competitive applicants will have conducted research as undergraduates.
Eligibility: Sophomores and Juniors in the STEM disciplines. Candidates must be nominated by CSU.
Awards and Benefits:  A maximum of $7,500 per year to cover the following eligible expenses: undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and room and board.


Truman Scholarship

Purpose:
 The recognizes college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education, or elsewhere in public service.
Eligibility: Juniors only. 
Awards and Benefits: Up to $30,000 in support for graduate school.


Boren Scholarship

Purpose:
 Scholarship awarded to students who plan study of world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East).
Eligibility: Students must bet U.S. citizens enrolled in an accredited university. Candidates must be nominated by CSU.
Awards and Benefits: The maximum award is $8,000 for a summer, $10,000 for a semester, or $20,000 for a full academic year.


Critical Language Scholarship

Purpose:
 Scholarship recipients receive funding to participate in beginning, intermediate and advanced level summer language programs at American Overseas Research Centers and affiliated partners.
Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and completed one year of study before the program begins.
Awards and Benefits: All program costs are covered for participants. This includes travel between the student's home city and program location, pre-departure orientation costs, applicable visa fees, room, board, travel within country and all entrance fees for program activities.


Gilman International Scholarship Program

Purpose:
 Offers grants for students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad.
Eligibility: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, an undergraduate in good academic standing, a Federal Pell Grant recipient, applying to or has been accepted into a study abroad program eligible for credit by the student's institution. The Study abroad program must be for at least 4 weeks in one country. Application must be certified by CSU.
Awards and Benefits: Varies – average award is $4,000.
