The Honors Experience
About the Honors Program at Colorado State University
Nearly 1,800 CSU students pursuing various undergraduate degrees from all eight colleges are part of the Honors Program community. This multi-disciplinary community creates a confluence of diverse ideas that push forward new, innovative ways of thinking and seeing the world. The experience provided by Honors@CSU encourages students to slow down, to deeply explore the convergence and exchange of ideas, to embrace a bit of ambiguity, and to entertain their curiosity. Flexible Curricular Pathways Meet Student Need
Honors@CSU recognizes students have different starting points as they embark on their journey toward graduation. We offer two different paths through Honors that lead to the same destination.
AUCC Pathway: Track 1
All first-year students will begin as Track 1 students. This track emphasizes Honors seminars as a way to not only meet programmatic goals, but also to satisfy the majority of the All-University Core Curriculum (AUCC) requirements. Students will additionally complete at least two Honors courses within their discipline(s), and conclude their Honors journey with an Honors thesis.
Departmental Honors Pathway: Track 2
Current CSU students, transfer students, or Track 1 students who have Honors advisor approval can approach Honors via Track 2. Track 2 recognizes students have completed the majority of their AUCC requirements and so places more emphasis on Honors coursework within a student’s discipline(s). All Honors students will complete the Honors Program with an Honors thesis.
